Toad in the hole
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb Sausage
- 1/2 lb Beef
- 1/4 lb Flour
- A little Pepper
- A little Salt
- 1/2 pt Milk
- 1 Egg
Method
Skin the sausages and divide them in halves or cut meat into inch squares and lay them into a greased pie dish. Put the flour into a basin and add a little pepper and salt, beat the egg and add it to the milk. Then pour it gradually onto the flour beating it well the whole time with a wooden spoon. When quite smooth pour it over the meat and cook in a quick oven for about half an hour.
