Sea Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Meat
  • 2 or 3 Onions
  • 1 oz Dripping
  • Pepper and salt
  • 6 ozs Flour
  • 3 ozs Suet
  • Baking flour

Method

Put the dripping into a median size pan. when quiet hot fry the onions in it sprinkling in a little flour. Add 1 pt of water then lay in the meat which has been cut into pieces an inch squared season with pepper and salt. Set on the fire to simmer gently. Put s ozs of flour into a bowl with a little salt, a teaspoonful of baking powder, 3ozs of chopped suet. Make it into a stiff paste with cold water. Roll it out a size larger than the pan on a well floured board. Put tit carefully over the meat and gravy and let it simmer very gently for one and a half or two hours.
