Pear and Apricot Preserve
Ingredients
- 2 lbs Dried pears
- 1 lb Dried apricots
- 1 Lemon
- 1 Orange
- 2 ozs Shelled and chopped walnuts
- 31/2 lbs Sugar
Method
Wash the fruit and cut into small pieces. Put into a bowl and cover with water and leave one night. The next morning drain off the syrup and boil it with the sugar. Add fruit, grated ring of lemon and orange and strained juice and walnuts. Boil gently for 1 hour. Pour into warm art and seal in usual way.
I put 3 pints of water over some I made.
