Flan Pastry

Ingredients

  • 5 ozs Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 21/2 ozs Margarine
  • 1 oz Castor sugar
  • 1/2 egg
  • No milk or water

Method

If the margarine is hard slightly warm it. Mix flour, baking powder and sugar together then rub the margarine or butter into it, thoroughly kneading it. Roll out leaving paste fairly thick. Line tin, cutting strips to go round as to have a flat piece at bottom. Place a smaller size tin inside  or a piece of cardboard to support the edge otherwise it will fall in. Bake in moderate oven.
