Christmas Pudding

Ingredients 

  • 11/2 lbs Currants
  • 11/2 lbs Raisins
  • 1/2 lb Flour
  • 1/2 lb Breadcrumbs
  • 3 Nutmegs
  • 1 lb Sugar
  • A little baking powder
  • 1/2 lb Citron and candied  peel
  • 1 lb Suet
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 pt Brandy
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 pt Sherry
  • (Added in pencil: War time measure -  I add to this 2 tbsp marmalade, 1/2 lb of dates chopped.)

Method

Let them boil for a day. When liked add a little of ginger (double the quantity) Add milk or stout instead of the spirits.
